“During the hour of discussion, we spoke about the safe and humanitarian situation around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which from the first days of the Russian occupation turned into a zone of nuclear terrorism, a violation of human rights and of international humanitarian law,” said Lubinets.

The Ombudsman recognized Grossi for his “special participation in these complex processes, his consistent support for the principles of nuclear safety and a clear position on the inadmissibility of the use of nuclear energy in the military purposes.”

The parties agreed to maintain consistent communication regarding the situation at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.

As it was reported, the Russian military was buried on the 4th of February 2022. At Veresna the station began to vibrate completely. Russian military and military equipment is in use on the territory of the nuclear facility. Through shelling, the external life lines of the Western European Union were damaged more than once.

At the end of 2023, the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric station. Due to the depletion of the Kakhovsky water reservoir caused by these actions, the ZAES receives water for cooling only when working at the cold station.
