The head of the European Commission confirmed Trump's tariffs on car imports

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen reacted to the decision of US President Donald Trump to allocate a 25-hundred-hundredth budget for the import of cars.

Ukrinform reports this to Politico.

“I deeply regret the US decision to impose tariffs on European automobile exports,” she said in a statement published Wednesday evening. – Tarifi is a tax; The stink is bad for business and even worse for businesses in both the United States and the European Union.”

Von der Leyen respected that he was ready to take action.

“We continue to joke about the decision to negotiate, protecting our economic interests,” she said. “How great is the trade effort and strong cooperation with the 27 member countries, we strongly protect our citizens, businesses and associates from the entire European Union.”

Tariffs on imported cars, according to Trump, will come into effect in the third quarter and, as it turns out, will have serious global consequences for the global economy.

In 2024, the United States imported passenger cars worth $214 billion from Europe, Japan, Mexico and South Korea.

As reported by Ukrinform, Trump voted on Wednesday to introduce 25% of foreign-made fuel into cars.
