The Powerball jackpot for the Saturday, Nov. 15 drawing reached an estimated $546 million, offering a cash payout of $255.6 million, according to the official Powerball website, reports the Baltimore Chronicle. The prize had been steadily growing since it was last claimed on Sept. 6, when two players from Missouri and Texas shared a historic $1.787 billion jackpot, the second-largest in the lottery’s history.
Interest in major U.S. lotteries remains high as the Mega Millions grand prize climbed back to $50 million after a Georgia ticket holder secured the $980 million jackpot on Nov. 14, according to the Mega Millions website.
The winning numbers for the Nov. 15 Powerball draw were 6, 7, 12, 47, 53, with the Powerball number 21. The Power Play multiplier for the draw was 4x. These results came as players nationwide continued seeking strategies and reviewing statistics on the most frequently drawn numbers.
Powerball continues its regular drawing schedule, held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., following the introduction of Monday draws in 2021. The lottery reminds participants that ticket purchase deadlines differ across states. For example, New Jersey closes sales at 9:59 p.m. on the day of the draw, while New York allows purchases until 10 p.m. States and jurisdictions maintain their own cutoff times, and players are advised not to wait until the final minutes.
A standard Powerball ticket costs $2, with an optional Power Play add-on available for $1. The Power Play feature boosts non-jackpot prizes up to five times their original value, and can reach 10x when the jackpot is below $150 million.
