Bulgaria continued its program of accommodating Ukrainian refugees

The Bulgarian government has extended until the end of April 2024 a state support scheme to accommodate Ukrainians who received temporary protection as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This is reported by The Sofia Globe.

The state support scheme was supposed to end on December 31, 2023, but the government decided to extend it until April 30, 2024.

According to data on the official government portal, during the full-scale war 213,3450 Ukrainians came to Bulgaria, of which 52,125 remain in the country to this day.

171,571 Ukrainians registered to receive temporary protection. Under the state scheme, 6,919 people are accommodated.
