Recall

On January 4, Polish farmers resumed the blockade movement of trucks near the Medika-Shegini checkpoint. It will tentatively last until February 3.

What farmers demand

Polish farmers demand subsidies for the purchase of corn, maintaining the agricultural tax this year at the 2023 level and extending the possibility of obtaining loans to ensure liquidity.

The day before, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture R P Michal Kolodziejczak noted that the ministry agrees to fulfill all the demands of farmers. At the same time, the farmers said that they had not received the appropriate written assurances signed by the Prime Minister. This was the basis for restoring the border blockade.

On November 6, 2023, Polish carriers blocked the movement of trucks on the border with Ukraine at the checkpoints “Yagodin – Dorogusk”, “Krakovets – Korczowa”, “Rava-Ruska – Grebennoe” .

On November 23, Polish farmers joined them at the Shegini-Medika checkpoint, putting forward their demands. From December 24, during the Christmas holidays, they suspended the border blockade in this place.
