What is known
Skuodis on January 17 discussed the issue of tightening sanctions against Russia and Belarus with the Minister of Climate of Estonia Kristen Michal and the Minister of Transport of Latvia Kaspars Brishkens.
According to him, the Baltic countries need to coordinate all actions, avoiding individual national initiatives and continue to exchange information on transport, including grain supplies.< /p>
“The Baltic countries would support the inclusion in the EU sanctions package of grain imports from Russia and Belarus to the European Union,” Skuodis said.
He previously reported that little Russian grain is transported in transit through Lithuania, Most supplies go through Latvia, and this is a big problem.
Recall
Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture Kestutis Navickas stated that EU sanctions do not apply to food products from Russia, but to grain imports to the EU can be limited by prohibitions related to transportation, although “it will be difficult for Brussels to accept such a decision.”
