Finland allocates a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 190 million euros

Finland announced a new package of military assistance for Ukraine worth 190 million euros. The country's president, Sauli Niinistö, accepted the issue on February 9 at the request of the government. This is reported by the Finnish Ministry of Defense.

This is already the 22nd shipment of defense assistance from Finland to Ukraine. The total value of defense materials supplied by Finland to Ukraine is EUR 1.8 billion.

For operational reasons and to ensure the safe delivery of assistance, the detailed contents, delivery method or schedule of assistance are not disclosed.

< p>This aid package also includes products purchased from Finnish manufacturers. For its purchase, separate funding in the amount of 30 million euros was allocated.

“There is a lot of know-how in the domestic industry, and we are working in the defense department so that this know-how and potential can be more effectively used and to support Ukraine. One example of this is our domestic production of ammunition,” said Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakkänen.

He also added that at the national level it is necessary to find new ways to support Ukraine in the long term. Finland is currently preparing a long-term plan to support Ukraine.

In addition, Finland has decided to participate in artillery and mine clearance coalitions operating within the framework of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine, which coordinates armed assistance to Ukraine.
