By According to the publication, the state has not paid interest compensation to banks under the state program “Affordable loans 5-7-9%” for about five months. At the beginning of the year, the debt reached UAH 7 billion.

Four bankers and one official spoke about the cessation of payments on condition of anonymity.

Given the significant difficulties with the budget due to the delay in international assistance, in January The Ministry of Finance carried out only priority expenditures. So the debt to banks continues to accumulate.

On the 181st day of delay (six months), banks could demand coverage of this interest from entrepreneurs participating in the “5-7-9” program. Therefore, the government changed the rules and increased this period to nine months.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance wrote that the National Bank and the government are working to solve this problem. Bankers said that they often complain to the NBU about delays in the frequent payments of interest compensation from the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, which supervises the government’s “5-7-9%” program.
