Ukraine began trading electricity with Hungary

Ukraine began trading electricity with Hungary. The first auctions were held on February 22. This was reported by the press service of NEC Ukrenergo.

Yesterday the company held the first joint auctions to distribute access to interstate interconnectors between Ukraine and Hungary on the European universal distribution platform JAO.

“This means that from today Ukraine began to carry out commercial exchange of electricity according to European rules with one more EU country,” Ukrenergo explained.

In general, electricity is exported today in the morning and throughout the day to Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Moldova.

Electricity is imported in the morning and evening hours from Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, as well as at night from Moldova.
