The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the World Bank have begun to create a roadmap for the creation of a program to provide Ukrainians with affordable housing. This was announced by Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko, reports the Government Portal.

“As a result of Russia’s war against In Ukraine, several million of our citizens lost their homes, and even more citizens left their own homes due to the threat to their lives. Therefore, we must create an effective program to provide such people with affordable housing,” said First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko during a meeting with the World Bank team.
During the meeting, potential models for implementing the Strategy were discussed providing Ukrainians with affordable housing, the possibility of attracting resources from commercial banks, modernizing the eOselya program and creating effective mechanisms for insuring the housing stock against war risks.
“We are grateful to the World Bank team for providing recommendations, professional expertise and technical support for implementation this project,” said Sviridenko.
Another topic of conversation was the discussion of the possibilities of creating a special fund to finance the corresponding program and attracting the World Bank and other financial donors to fill it.
In During the meeting, the parties agreed to expand the circle of participants in the discussion, involving representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and other interested participants.
