On March 13, the rise in price of the American currency occurred simultaneously with a reduction in the total trading volume on Bloomberg from $134.5 million to $93.25 million, which experts cannot yet explain.

After transferring the interbank to a managed flexible exchange rate regime in October 2023, the leadership of the National Bank stated that during the decline in demand for the dollar, they would create prerequisites for the strengthening of the hryvnia.

According to the results of today's foreign exchange trading, the National Bank raised the official dollar exchange rate to the hryvnia from 38.4924 UAH/$ to 38.7878 UAH/$ (set for tomorrow, March 14) is a new maximum value.

The previous peak of the official rate was recorded on February 21, 2024 – 38.48 UAH/$, after which the national currency strengthened.
