Ukraine signed an anti-fraud agreement with the European Union

Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko and European Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn signed an agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine’s participation in the EU program to combat fraud. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

Deal details

The purpose of the program is to protect the financial interests of the European Union by combating fraud and corruption affecting the EU budget, as well as ensuring compliance with legislation on customs and agricultural issues.

< p>The signed agreement between Ukraine and the EU is aimed at:

– preventing and combating fraud, corruption and any other illegal activity affecting the financial interests of Ukraine and the EU;

– improving processes reporting on possible violations of EU funds;

– implementation of tools for the rapid exchange of administrative information between Ukraine and the EU on customs and agricultural matters.

“Joining the Anti-Fraud Program is another an important step to strengthen reliable and transparent relations with the European Union,” commented Sergei Marchenko.
