The international register of losses from Russian aggression will be launched on April 2

The International Register of Losses Resulting from Russian Aggression (RD4U) will begin accepting first applications on April 2, 2024. This was reported in the register's press service, reports the EP.

On April 2, the registry will officially open the process of submitting applications for compensation for damage, loss or damage caused by Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The RD4U Council decided to open the registry for the submission of applications, evidence and related information, making sure that the necessary documentary evidence has already been created and technical base.

It is noted that the historic opening will take place in The Hague within the framework of the ministerial conference “Restoring Justice for Ukraine” in the presence of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maria Pejcinovic Buric, heads of international organizations and top officials from more than 60 states.

Who can apply

Priority category of applicants who will be focused on first in total – people whose homes were destroyed or damaged. It is expected that from 300 thousand to 600 thousand applications will be submitted in this category.

Subsequently, applications will begin to accept applications in other categories, paying particular attention to applications from people most affected by the war, as well as applications related to with damage or destruction of critical infrastructure in Ukraine.

“This step-by-step approach will allow the Register to organize the effective submission of applications, as well as prepare its own systems for the speedy processing of applications and their inclusion in the Register,” explained the press service.

Application will be submitted to RD4U through “Diya”.
