Ukraine will open a new checkpoint on the border with Romania

The Cabinet of Ministers approved an agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Romania on the opening of a new checkpoint on the border. It will be located between the settlements of Bila Tserkva (Transcarpathian region) and Sighetu Marmatiei (Romania). This was announced by government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.

“The Agreement was approved (in the form of an exchange of notes) between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Romania on the opening of a new international checkpoint across the Ukrainian-Romanian state border between the settlements of Bila Tserkva (Ukraine) and Sighetu Marmatia (Romania) , committed on August 18, 2023. “,” Melnichuk noted.

Prime Minister Denis Shmihal said during a government meeting that in total in the western direction Ukraine plans to create nine new border checkpoints and modernize 13 more.

“ All this will provide great opportunities for Ukrainian exports and will accelerate our sectoral integration into the European Union,” the Prime Minister noted.
