The number of Ukrainians provided with housing by their employer has increased by almost 2.5 times compared to 2022. Such data was published in the analytical center of the international employment agency Gremi Personal.

During the first quarter of 2024, 55% of Ukrainians said that they used housing from their employer, 33% noted that they rented housing at their own expense, 8% found refuge in Polish homes and 4% lived in collective accommodation centers.
In November 2022, when a similar survey was conducted, the distribution of places of residence was completely different.
At that time, 58% of respondents rented housing at their own expense; 22% of Ukrainians were provided with housing by their employers. 10% were sheltered by Poles in their home, to whom the government paid compensation for each refugee under the asylum program. 5% lived on state funds (in collective centers) and 5% with the help of charitable organizations.

The agency also recalled that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Polish administration announced changes for Ukrainian refugees. In particular, we are talking about the abolition of subsidies for centers where refugees live from July 2024.
Today, there are almost 40 thousand Ukrainians in collective housing centers, for each of them the state pays 40 zlotys (392 UAH) daily.
“The fact that the number of Ukrainians provided with housing by their employer has increased by almost 2, 5 times compared to 2022 has a logical explanation. Historically, Ukrainians came to Poland for temporary work.
At the beginning of the Great War, Poland received the largest number of Ukrainians who did not immediately find work. Some had savings, some went to other EU countries, some returned to Ukraine. Finally, the vast majority of Ukrainians who are eager to work remain in Poland. For the most part, they use housing from their employer. The number is official,” explained Anna Jobolda, director of the recruitment department at Gremi Personal.
The agency noted that the number of employed Ukrainians in Poland at the end of February 2024 was 755 thousand.
