The sea corridor created by the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has ensured the export of almost 36 million tons of cargo since August 2023, said Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov. ” More than 36 million tons of cargo were exported through the Ukrainian sea corridor with August 2023. This is higher than the figures of the Grain Initiative for the year of its existence,” Kubrakov wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
According to him, 195.7 thousand tons were loaded on the largest vessel that called after the full-scale invasion of Ukrainian ports, the ship CAPTAIN LEONIDAS under the flag of Panama in the port of Yuzhny. The length of the vessel is 300 meters, width is 50 meters, deadweight is more than 203 thousand tons.
Since August 2023, 1.286 thousand vessels have already passed through the Ukrainian sea corridor, exporting 25 million tons of agricultural products to Asian countries , Africa and Europe. There are 135 ships waiting to approach the Black Sea ports, which should export another 4 million tons of cargo.
