French billionaire Niel plans to merge Datagroup-Volia and lifecell after their purchase

NJJ Holding of French entrepreneur Xavier Niel intends to merge Datagroup-Volia and lifecell, reports Horizon Capital.

“The merger will occur after receiving regulatory approval, which will lead to 100% ownership of these assets registered in Ukraine,” the message says.

As you know, 96.13% of the shares of Datagroup-Volia are owned by the fund , managed by the American private investment company Horizon Capital under the leadership of Elena Kosharna. The remaining 3.87% belongs to Datagroup-Volia CEO Mikhail Shelembi.

Following the closing of the agreement in Ukraine, the group plans to launch a significant investment program with investments in the network, licenses, equipment and expansion of the fixed and mobile infrastructure in the country to accelerate future growth.

“Following the closing of the agreement, a fund managed by Horizon Capital, together with Mikhail Shelemba, will invest in the platform to maintain a minority stake and become a local partner of Xavier Niel and NJJ in Ukraine,” the message says.

The finalization of the transaction depends on the receipt of residual regulatory approvals and other conditions closure.

“The combined company will provide mobile communications services to more than 10 million Ukrainians, and its fixed network will cover more than 4 million households throughout the country,” noted Horizon Capital.

It was also added that the merger of Datagroup-Volia and lifecell will also allow consumers to take advantage of the triple package offer of services, including mobile, fixed-line communications and pay television, while providing higher quality of service, better price and facilitating further integration into European standards.
