In February 2024, Ukrainian banks issued 783 mortgage loans for a total amount of UAH 1.3 billion. This was reported by the NBU press service.

The volume of mortgage loans provided to the population in February 2024 compared to the previous month (January 2024) increased by 17.3%, while at the same time more than seven times higher than the figure for the same period last year (February 2023).
At the same time, 9 banks that provided loans for the purchase of housing were informed about the issuance of a new mortgage in February. The majority of transactions were still concluded on the secondary real estate market.
“The movement of the mortgage segment remains preferential lending within the framework of the eOselya program (almost all loans over the last year were provided within the framework of this program.
< p>The weighted average effective rate on mortgage loans in February remained at the level of 7.6% per annum for the fourth month in a row,” the report says.
It is also reported that, regionally, the majority of mortgage loans in February were issued in Kiev and Kyiv region – 357 contracts for a total amount of UAH 631.4 million (48.5% of the total volume), Lviv (51 contracts for UAH 99.6 million), Odessa (46 for UAH 71.9 million) and Vinnitsa ( 35 for UAH 50.9 million) regions.
