The International Monetary Fund forecasts an increase in Ukraine's total public debt in 2024 to 94% of the country's GDP, which is less than previously expected. This is stated in the “Financial Monitor” report, presented in Washington by the Director of the IMF Financial Department Viktor Gaspar, Ukrinform reports.

So, in the section on countries with developing markets, as well as middle-income countries, it is noted that Ukraine’s public debt will reach 94% in 2024.
This forecast is slightly lower compared to the October issue of the Financial Monitor – then it was expected that the public debt would rise to 98.6 % in 2024.

At the same time, it is assumed that over the next years this figure will not exceed 100%.< /p>
Before Russia's full-scale invasion in 2021, Ukraine's public debt amounted to 48.9% of national GDP.
