VAKS allowed to confiscate the assets of Motor Sich ex-president Boguslaev

The High Anti-Corruption Court satisfied the claim of the Ministry of Justice to recover the assets of the ex-president of Motor Sich JSC Vyacheslav Boguslaev and the ex-manager of the company Petr Kononenko. This was announced by the Director of the Department of Sanctions Policy of the Ministry of Justice Inna Bogatykh, Ukrinform reports.

“The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has just granted the claim of the Ministry of Justice for the application of sanctions in in the form of recovery of assets against Boguslaev and Kononenko. Corporate rights (Motor Bank, Motor Garant (insurance), Vinnytsia Aviation Plant and other enterprises), real estate, land plots, cash, weapons and other assets were recovered from state income,” she wrote on Facebook.

Bogatykh also added that “the court rejected certain assets of third parties.” The ministry will challenge this decision.

Bogatykh thanked the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Security Service, NAPC, ARMA, State Tax Service, other bodies, and public organizations that actively worked to collect the appropriate evidence base.

“The appeal is ahead, but the first round is ours,” Bogatykh summed up.

As the Ministry of Finance wrote, on October 23, 2022, Vyacheslav Boguslaev, president and ex-owner of one of the world’s largest aircraft engine manufacturers, Motor Sich, was detained on charges of high treason by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court for the recovery of the assets of the ex-president of Motor Sich JSC Boguslaev and the former top manager of the company Kononenko into the state's income.

The Ministry of Justice asked to recover from these persons, connected by permanent business ties, more than 30 units of real estate (residential/non-residential premises, land plots), corporate rights of more than 10 legal entities, including 100% shares in the authorized capital of Motor-Garant SK ODO, Vinnitsa Aviation Plant LLC, SME Helicopters LLC, 2,000,000 pcs. ordinary registered shares of the issuer of the Motor-Bank joint-stock company, their shares in the authorized capital of Zhekon Firm LLC, as well as funds in the accounts of FUIB JSC and Motor-Bank JSC, property rights, in particular to trademarks and patents for industrial designs, a large number of firearms.

Motor Sich is one of the largest enterprises in the world producing engines for airplanes and helicopters, as well as industrial gas turbine units. The company supplies products to more than 100 countries.
