The Netherlands allocated more than 200 million euros to Ukraine for air defense and artillery ammunition

The Netherlands has allocated more than 200 million euros for an initiative to strengthen the air defense (air defense) of Ukraine, as well as the supply of artillery shells. This was reported by the press service of the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

“Air defense systems and artillery ammunition are extremely necessary for Ukraine. The situation is fraught with crisis. The resources that the Netherlands are now providing are already on the European continent and will be delivered to Ukraine as quickly as possible,” said Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren at a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council.

Air Defense

The Netherlands is allocating 150 million euros to support the German initiative aimed at acquiring and supplying long-range air defense systems to Ukraine.

In addition, the Dutch Ministry of Defense will purchase short-range air defense systems for 60 million euros. The same means can be used to combat drones.

Artillery ammunition

The Agency also recalls that the Netherlands is contributing to Estonia’s initiative to quickly supply artillery ammunition to Ukraine from existing stocks.

Earlier, the Netherlands announced that it would contribute 250 million euros to a similar Czech plan to quickly supply more shells.
