The Russian Federation will continue to attack the energy sector, but there will be no total blackout in Ukraine – Energy Minister

Russia is attacking and will continue to attack Ukrainian energy facilities. And even despite enemy attacks, there will be no blackout in Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko in a telethon, reports “Public”.

“Unfortunately, there is no doubt that that enemy attacks will continue. However, the energy system is intact. There will be no total blackout in the country,” the minister said.

Although there will be no total blackouts, Galushchenko said that we need to be prepared for any scenarios and emphasized that power engineers are doing everything to ensure that the worst scenarios do not materialize.

“As experience has already shown in the last calendar year, we stick to our word,” the minister added.

The “Ministry of Finance” wrote that on April 11 2024, as a result of a massive missile attack, Russian army troops completely destroyed the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant in the Kiev region.

In addition, the Russians disabled the Dnieper hydroelectric power station, before that they got into the Zmievskaya Thermal Power Plant in the Kharkov region, and another TPP – Uglegorskaya, which has been under occupation since July 2022.
