The NBU introduces a commemorative coin “Chernobyl. Revival. Black stork” (photo)

Today, on the 38th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the National Bank of Ukraine is introducing into circulation a commemorative coin “Chernobyl. Revival. Black stork.” This was reported by the regulator's press service.

“This is the fourth coin in a series dedicated to the revival of wildlife in the Chernobyl territory reserve,” the message says.

What the coin looks like

On the reverse of the coin, against a landscape background, there is a black stork with chicks in a nest above it.

On the obverse, in the center, there is a symbolic wheel of life, marking the rebirth of nature: a stylized international sign “Radiation Threat”, shrouded in leaves, around which are depicted animals whose populations are developing in the 30-kilometer exclusion zone, in particular the black stork, Przewalski’s horse, elk and brown bear.

Buy a commemorative coin “Chernobyl. Revival. Black Stork” will be available from today from 10:00 in the online store of numismatic products of the National Bank and distribution banks (Ukrgasbank, Radabank, Taskombank, Privatbank).
