On May 9, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Igor Kolomoisky in the case of organizing the contract killing of lawyer Sergei Karpenko. According to the court's decision, the oligarch will be held in custody until July 7 without the right to bail. This is reported by “Public”.

The investigation considers Kolomoisky to be involved in organizing the attempted murder of a lawyer more than twenty years ago. At the same time, the businessman has been in custody since September 2023 on suspicion of fraud and legalization of property.

The Ministry of Finance wrote that yesterday, May 8, Igor Kolomoisky was informed of suspicion of organizing a contract murder.
According to the investigation, a businessman, out of revenge, ordered the murder of the director of one of the law firms for failure to comply with the requirements for annulment and invalidation decisions of the general meeting of shareholders of an open joint-stock company.
To do this, he recruited members of a gang “specializing” in committing serious and especially serious crimes, including physical violence against competitors.
In August 2003, in the Feodosia center, four men brutally beat and stabbed a lawyer. Doctors managed to save the victim's life. Then law enforcement officers detained the perpetrators of the contract killing.
On September 2, 2023, the SBU, BEP and the Office of the Prosecutor General served Kolomoisky with suspicion under Articles 190 and 209 of the Criminal Code: fraud and legalization (laundering) of property obtained by crime. Subsequently, Kolomoisky received 2 more suspicions: about the withdrawal of a total of 15 billion UAH from Privatbank.
On September 15, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court re-elected a preventive measure for the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who received a new suspicion under three articles – in the case of appropriation of 5 .8 billion UAH. The judge changed the preventive measure in relation to the bail, setting it at UAH 3 billion 891 million.
On September 7, Kolomoisky was suspected of embezzling UAH 9.2 billion from Privatbank.
