The United States has allocated more than $190 million to support Ukraine's energy sector

The United States Agency for International Development USAID has allocated $190 million for the program “Ensuring the Energy Supply, Resilience and Sustainable Operation of Ukraine's Energy Networks.” USAID Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman reported this.

What is known

As part of the program, the organization will provide assistance to Ukraine in the energy sector over the next five years.

According to Coleman, the program is designed to support for Ukraine's electrical grid, as well as centralized gas and heat supply.

“The United States' ongoing support for Ukraine reflects our determination to help the country ensure its sovereignty, economic viability and the functioning of democratic institutions. The Securing Power, Advancing Resilience and Connectivity program will keep the lights on in the homes of millions of Ukrainians, giving them the tools and strength to continue defending their home country,” Coleman said.

“Following the passage last week of the Additional National Security Act, the United States will also provide at least $1.4 billion in additional funding to support the economic recovery of Ukraine,” the official also noted.

Recall

USAID has allocated almost $1 billion in energy assistance to Ukraine, including more than $475 million in emergency support over the last two winters to rebuild energy infrastructure.
