In the second quarter of 2024, global shipments of personal computers (PCs) grew by 3%, driven by demand for artificial intelligence-enabled devices. The biggest jump is seen at Apple. This is reported by Reuters with a link to IDC data.

In the second quarter, which ended in June, PC shipments reached 64.9 million units. Apple's shipments jumped 20.8% compared to the second quarter of 2023, the biggest increase among global PC makers, followed by Acer Group with 13.7%.
The PC market is expected to rebound after decline in orders following rapid growth during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, weak results in China continued to hold back the market, IDC said, adding that if China were excluded from the overall statistics, the market growth rate would reach more than 5 % for the quarter compared to the same period last year.
