Lithuania stops paying for the education of Ukrainian students. At the same time, some universities undertake to do this on their own. The Lithuanian publication BNS writes about this, reports Liga.net.

The cessation of funding applies to new students. Lithuania will continue to compensate tuition fees for Ukrainian students admitted to Lithuanian higher education institutions who arrived in the country after the Russian invasion began in 2022.
“This is the desire of the Ukrainian side. There are higher educational institutions in Ukraine, and at the moment there is no need to transfer training to another place,” the Lithuanian government added.
After these changes, Ukrainians who have completed secondary education and passed state exams in Lithuania will the same general entry procedure as Lithuanian citizens and will be able to apply for budget-funded places.
Some higher education institutions, despite the decision of the central authorities, decided to fully or partially continue to finance the education of Ukrainians.
