The annual inflation rate in the euro area was 2.5% in June, compared to 2.6% in May. A year earlier, this figure was 5.5%. Annual inflation in the EU stood at 2.6% in June, down from 2.7% in May. A year earlier it was 6.4%. This is evidenced by Eurostat data.

How inflation has changed in countries
The lowest annual rates were recorded in Finland (0.5 percent), Italy (0.9 percent) and Lithuania (1 percent).
The highest annual rates figures were recorded in Belgium (5.4 percent), Romania (5.3 percent), Spain and Hungary (3.6 percent each). Among other large economies in Germany and France, this figure was 2.5 percent, and in the Netherlands – 3.4 percent.
Compared to May, Eurostat emphasizes, annual inflation decreased in 17 member states, but remained unchanged stable in one and increased in nine.
In June, the largest contribution to eurozone inflation was made by services (+1.84 percentage points), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (+0.48), non-energy industrial goods (+0.17) and energy (+0.02).
