Poland will issue three-year residence permits to refugees from Ukraine

Citizens of Ukraine fleeing the war in Poland will be able to apply for a special residence permit for three years from 2025. A message about this appeared on the official government portal of Poland, writes Finance.ua.

What is known

Currently, Ukrainians who came to Poland in connection with military operations in Ukraine receive a special UKR status, allowing them to legally stay on the territory of the state and enjoy benefits.

Those who have joined Effective July 1 of this year, changes to the Law on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine in Connection with the Armed Conflict on the Territory of this Country introduce a new way for the further legalization of the stay of Ukrainian citizens under temporary protection.

It will be possible to apply for a special residence card (marked CUKR) for Ukrainian citizens enjoying temporary protection from 2025. The provisions of this process will come into force with the launch of a special online service.

A residence permit for 3 years will be available to persons who meet the following conditions:

An application for a residence card will be submitted only in electronic form using an online service approved by the Chairman of the Office for Foreigners, using a special form that will be determined in the relevant order. The rules for this process will come into force only after the launch of a special online service.

Detailed information about this process will be made public before the launch of the online service, which is planned for next year.
