What will this give to corrupt officials?

If the bill is adopted, top corrupt officials will be able to legally buy off their prison sentences even without full compensation for damages – you can simply pay part of the amount.

In addition, this document allows caught corrupt officials not to expose accomplices and information about other crimes.

The bill was initiated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and supported by 231 people’s deputies.

National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office and the parliamentary Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy opposed the bill.
