Domestic Sense Bank issued the first business loan for energy efficient solutions

The bank reported that it recently signed the first agreement on lending to medium-sized businesses for the development of alternative energy sources. A client of a financial institution was issued a loan under the state program “Affordable loans 5−7−9%.”

The borrower, a company engaged in the production and sale of metal structures, decided to build a 1 MW solar power plant in the Chernivtsi region. For example, this electricity is enough to power about 360 apartments. The annual output of the station will be 1150 MW-hours of electricity. The total loan amount is UAH 14.2 million. The repayment period is five years.

Alexey Stupak, Chairman of the Board of Sense Bank, noted that the bank will continue to develop this area of lending.

“The development of alternative sources of electricity, in modern conditions, is an extremely important area of activity for the whole of Ukraine. Society needs credit solutions to overcome the energy crisis, and such solutions exist and are already working. The expansion of the state program “Affordable loans 5-7-9%”, as well as the launch of other credit products from the banking sector allows all segments of the population to be involved in the development of a strong and independent energy system. Our team will develop this area of lending to our clients as one of the highest priorities,” noted Alexey Stupak.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko said that the government will continue to expand existing lending programs for the prompt restoration of destroyed generating capacities.

“Entrepreneurs are raising funds to develop alternative energy sources and gas generation. In the context of a shortage of electricity due to large-scale shelling of the energy infrastructure by the Russian Federation, this is one of the ways to quickly restore what was destroyed and increase one’s own energy independence. At the beginning of July, we expanded the “Affordable Loans 5-7-9” program to include the opportunity to purchase energy equipment. And now we already have an example that the program works, businesses turn to banks. In addition, from July 20, interest-free lending programs for citizens will begin and the expansion of the “Affordable Loans 5-7-9” program will become available to condominiums and housing construction cooperatives,” noted Yulia Sviridenko.

We would like to remind you that Ukraine currently has a state lending program “Affordable loans 5-7-9%”, within which you can purchase solar and wind power plants, as well as electricity storage equipment. And on July 12, the Ukrainian Sense Bank announced the launch of its own loan program “Source of Energy”, which currently allows micro, small, medium and corporate businesses, as well as territorial communities, to receive loan financing for the development of alternative power grids.
