Since February 24, 2022, the IMF has provided Ukraine with $10.2 billion in budget assistance. This is the third largest external financing after the EU and the USA. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance.

IMF assistance
“The Government of Ukraine, the National Bank and other authorities have already completed 23 structural beacons out of 37 provided for by the Memorandum with the IMF to date. 14 completed beacons concerned the fiscal sector. Ukraine’s fulfillment of the conditions contributes to maintaining macro-financial stability and paves the country’s European integration path. The financial system adapts to functioning in conditions of uncertainty. The fifth review of the program is ahead and the Ukrainian side, in cooperation with the IMF, is doing everything possible to complete it successfully.
Fifth review of the program
The IMF mission for the fifth review of the EFF program will begin in September. If the revision is successful, Ukraine will receive the next tranche from the Fund in the amount of about $1.1 billion. Among the conditions is one structural beacon for the adoption of an updated law on the Bureau of Economic Security.
The leadership of the Ministry of Finance noted that wartime challenges require sustainable and rhythmic external financing for Ukraine. The IMF's leadership on this issue continues to play an important role. The Fund is actually a platform that brings together international donors to mobilize funds for the priority needs of Ukraine.
How much money is needed for 2024
This year, the need for international support reaches $38 billion. Partners have already provided relevant assurances. Measures are being taken to attract funds in 2025.

The total volume of the Extended Financing Facility – EFF program for 2023-2027 is $15.6 billion. EFF is part of the international support package for Ukraine , which is about $122 billion.
