Recall
In May 2023, at the Council of Europe summit in Reykjavik, more than 40 countries and the EU signed agreement on the creation of a Register of damage caused to Ukraine by Russian aggression.
The agreement provides for the creation of a database to record evidence of losses or damage caused to the state of Ukraine, individuals and legal entities through illegal actions of Russia, starting from February 24, 2022.
Money claims of victims in the Russian Federation will also be entered into this database. It is expected that the agreed and confirmed claims will be implemented over time, when the international community agrees on the compensation mechanism and the sources of its content.
In July 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the conditions for submitting applications to the Register of Damage Caused by the Russian Federation.
