Lago assured that the United States “will be with Ukraine at every step.” She noted that for her team at the Department of Commerce and the International Trade Administration, an unwavering commitment to Ukraine means connecting American companies to urgent needs now, particularly in the defense and energy sectors.

“Just as important, we are planning now for Ukraine’s victory and economic recovery. Heeding President Zelensky’s guidance, the United States and our partners are not waiting for the war to end to begin planning for recovery,” she emphasized.

Lago noted that supporting Ukraine “is not just the right thing to do, but an investment in transatlantic security and the democratic values we all hold dear.”
