The EU has transferred a tranche of 1.5 billion euros from the profits from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. This was written by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

According to her, the money is intended to support the defense and restoration of Ukraine.
“There is no better symbol and better use for the Kremlin's money than to make Ukraine and all of Europe a safer place to live,” she emphasized.
Recall that Josep Borrell stated that in addition to the first tranche of 1.4 billion euros, another 1 billion euros would be allocated by the end of the year to purchase weapons for Ukraine.
