GUR attacks on Russian banking sector: Russians can't withdraw money

Russians are unable to withdraw cash after an unprecedented attack by cyber specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for the banking sector. This was reported by a source in the Main Intelligence Directorate, Ukrinform reports.

The attack on the banking sector has been going on for several days and is gaining momentum.

After the defeat of the online services of leading Russian banks, Internet providers, social networks and national payment systems, ATMs were attacked.

In addition, Ukrainian intelligence managed to gain access to the databases of Russian financial institutions.

According to intelligence sources, brokerage applications and ATMs have joined the main Russian banking institutions that have already had their online services blocked.

Now users of a number of Russian banks cannot withdraw cash, since their debit and credit cards are immediately blocked when they try to use an ATM.

In addition, the GUR cyber specialists managed to gain access to large volumes of databases of financial institutions that are being attacked.

The Russian bank Dom.rf has been added to the affected VTB Bank, Alfa Bank, Sberbank, Raiffeisen Bank, RSHB Bank, Rosbank, Gazprombank, T-Bank and IBank. The work of the brokerage application “T-investments” has also been blocked.
