The Ministry of Finance stated that it will find funds for the “cashback” program, despite the critical situation with the financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Despite the critical shortage of funds for the needs of the defense forces and the need to raise taxes, the government does not see the possibility of significantly reducing spending in certain areas and does not refuse additional spending to finance the “cashback” program announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky for the purchase of Ukrainian-made goods. Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko spoke about this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

What Marchenko said

According to him, there are no significant items of state budget expenditure yet, the financing of which could be cut.

“I'll be honest, we have nothing to cut,” Marchenko said.

At the same time, time, he promised to find funds to finance the “cashback” program announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“When we are criticized for 3 billion hryvnia, and our need is 500 billion hryvnia, then I think that this is quite unprofessional on the part of these critics. Cashback is a government decision that we support. When it is approved by the Rada and technical implementation is required, then our task as the Ministry of Finance is to find sources of financing,” added Marchenko.
