< p>Fedorichev’s assets were arrested at the request of Ukraine as part of the investigation into crimes committed in Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about corruption in the supply of agricultural products worth more than $60 million.

The seized assets include company shares with a nominal value of 3 million euros and four real estate units worth almost 38 million euros, which will be transferred to a judicial guardian specially appointed by the court.

It is worth noting that this property includes one of the most valuable buildings in Florence – the 12th-century castle Torre del Gallo.

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine has confirmed the seizure of the Russian oligarch's assets.

As part of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that during July-October 2014, officials of the state grain corporation organized the conclusion and execution of foreign trade contracts for the sale of grain products of PJSC “GPZKU” at reduced prices to controlled enterprises.

According to the scheme, the grain belonging to the state company was delivered to Saudi Arabia on a cash on delivery basis due to a number of business entities. However, the funds for the delivered grain were never paid. As a result, the state corporation suffered losses in the amount of more than $60 million.

During the investigation, it was established that the castle was purchased with part of these funds.

According to Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
