The payment for GDP warrants consists of two parts: a payment for agreeing to changes in conditions and interest in the amount of $130.1 million, as well as a deferred payment amount and interest in the amount of $70.5 million for GDP growth in 2021 (Ukraine was supposed to pay this payment to owners warrants in 2023).

“It should be noted that about 20% of the amount of 70.5 million US dollars will be returned to Ukraine as one of the largest owners of these instruments,” the Finance Ministry noted.

They added that making a payment for agreeing to change the terms of the warrant issue (in the amount of 130.1 million dollars) will allow Ukraine to buy back the GDP warrants at their par value in the next 3 years.

“In accordance with the fundamental agreements reached with the owners of Eurobonds, Ukraine undertakes to ensure fair and equitable treatment of the owners of GDP warrants during any future public debt management operations, as well as to adhere to the goals set out in the IMF debt sustainability analysis,” the Finance Ministry added.
