In the second quarter of 2024, the total number of tablet shipments worldwide amounted to 34.4 million units, which is 22.1% more than in the same period last year, according to data from IDC.

Currently, the supply level is comparable to the values of the coronavirus pandemic. This is a sign that demand for tablets has resumed.
Market leaders
Apple leads the tablet market, controlling more than a third of it. In the second quarter of the year, the “apple” company sold 12.3 million tablets, which is 35.8% of the market share.
The release of new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air and iPad Pro models helped Apple increase its market share worldwide.
China was the only exception, as stiff competition from local brands Huawei and Xiaomi prevented the American company from selling its tablets there.
Samsung came in second with 6.9 million shipments during the period, accounting for 20.1% of the market share.
Lenovo came in third with 2.5 million shipments and 7.3% of the market share.
Huawei shipped 2.3 million tablets and took 6.8% of the market share, thanks to strong demand for its latest MatePad series.
Xiaomi was the fifth-leading tablet vendor with 2 million shipments and 5.8% of the market share. The Chinese company boasts strong year-on-year growth of 94.7%, with significant growth in several European markets.
