In January-July 2024, customs offices of the State Customs Service identified 5852 violations of customs regulations for a total of UAH 15.6 billion. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Service.

Increase in the number of violations
The cost of the indicator of detected violations increased by 2.5 times, compared to the same period last year, and almost twice the indicator for the entire last year.
It is noted that in 1,678 cases for violation of customs regulations, items of violation worth more than UAH 292.6 million were temporarily seized:
- industrial goods worth about UAH 200 million; food products worth over UAH 43.3 million; vehicles worth UAH 47.5 million; currency worth UAH 1.8 million.
At the same time, in 1893 cases of violation of customs regulations, including those initiated in previous periods, customs authorities applied an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 50.8 million UAH, of which 47.7 million UAH was collected into the state budget.
Customs authorities have referred 3096 cases of violation of customs regulations to court for consideration in the amount of 12.7 billion UAH.
Based on the results of the consideration of cases by the courts, including those initiated in previous periods, penalties (confiscation of goods and fines) were imposed in the amount of more than 1.5 billion UAH.
