More than half (58%) of Ukrainians surveyed said that the negative consequences of raising the retirement age will outweigh the possible positive ones. This is evidenced by the data from a study by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center.

16% of respondents believe that raising the retirement age will have approximately equal positive and negative consequences.
7% answered that raising the retirement age in Ukraine can be considered a forced step, and its positive consequences will prevail negative.
Until what age are Ukrainians ready to work?
To the question “Until what age are you ready to work:
- 29% answered – until 60 years old, 12% – ready to work until 61-65 years old, 3% – until 66-70 years old, 15% – until 50-59 years old.
At the same time, 20% answered that they cannot or are not ready to work at all.
Main problems
Ukrainians consider the following to be the main problems that currently exist in the labor market:
- worker mobilization — 73%, personnel shortage — 53%, outflow of qualified personnel abroad — 48%, shadowing of economic relations — 26%, disproportions in salary expectations of candidates and financial capabilities of businesses — 22%, unwillingness of recruiters and employers to cooperate with candidates over 40 years old — 19%.
Survey
The survey was conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center from June 6 to 12, 2024. 2016 respondents aged 18 and over were surveyed. It is stated that the theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.
