Ukrainian potatoes continue to rise in price. Currently, they cost between 13-18 UAH/kg ($0.32-0.44/kg), which is on average 20% more expensive than at the end of the last working week. This is reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.

It is noted that, despite the increase in prices, the demand for potatoes on the Ukrainian market remains quite high.
Reasons for the price increase
The latest increase in potato prices was due to a number of reasons. First of all, this was due to a reduction in supplies from farms, since due to drought in a number of regions, producers were forced to suspend harvesting.
In addition, sellers spoke about the small supply of high-quality products, which also supported prices.
Analysts noted that today, potato prices in Ukraine are on average 82% higher than in the first half of August 2023. At that time, the shipment of this product was no more expensive than 10 UAH/kg ($0.24/kg).
Moreover, the current prices for one of the main products for Ukrainians are the highest in at least the last 5 seasons.
At the same time, given the active pace of potato sales, many Ukrainian farmers are declaring their intention to make further attempts to raise prices in this segment next week.
Recall
The Ministry of Finance wrote that since the beginning of this week, prices for watermelons in Ukraine have already fallen by a third.
