notes that the main reason for disagreements is an inflated assessment of old reserves US weapons.

The Ministry of Defense said that transferred equipment costs $ 31 billion, but researchers estimate its real value of $ 12.5 billion. A significant part of the equipment was written off, and its use in battle is limited, which further reduces its cost.

An indirect transfer of equipment through the allied countries, in particular Poland, is about $ 20 billion defense investments, but only $ 340 million Ukraine directly went to Ukraine.

over three years of full -scale war, the United States provided Ukraine with $ 50.9 billion. Of which, $ 32.6 billion went to budget support – salaries, pensions and other expenses reimbursed through the Mechanisms of the World Bank and USAID.

“Public stories about the help of Ukraine often do not take into account the difference between allocations and actually provided with help,” the study says.

Secondly, a significant part of the funds is being ordered by new weapons systems in the United States, but supplies occur with large delays. Of the allocated $ 12.1 billion for the purchase of new equipment, the real assistance for Ukraine is estimated only at $ 5.5 billion.

Also, part of the American assistance is provided in the form of loans and guarantees. For example, the United States used frozen Russian assets to ensure loans to Ukraine and Moldova for $ 25 billion.

in general, the study concludes that the actual cost of the military US assistance in Ukraine is $ 18.3 billion, while another $ 32.6 billion was provided in the form of budgetary assistance, Basically, through the mechanisms of reimbursement of expenses.

Thus, the total cost of assistance rendered in three years amounted to $ 50.9 billion – an average of about $ 17 billion per year.

It is noted that this corresponds to only 0.25% of the US federal budget. For comparison, this is about the same as Washington spends on the maintenance and energy supply of government buildings.

separately, the authors of the report note that Ukraine carefully monitors all revenues. Thanks to the electronic control system, you can track every spent hryvnia – from the salaries of civil servants to the purchase of office paper. The audits did not reveal abuses or abnormalities in the use of international assistance.
