According to the optimistic scenario, the King Danylo Halytskyi Lviv International Airport may open for flights in April-May of this year. This was stated by the airport's general director Tatyana Romanovska in an interview with the Vysoky Zamok publication.

According to her, other possible dates for the opening of the skies include summer. Five to seven airlines are ready to work in Lviv (within a month after the launch of the terminal), as a symbol of strong solidarity with Ukraine.
The government is also considering opening another airport in western Ukraine – Uzhgorod.
Romanovskaya stated that Wizzair, Air Baltic, Turkish Airlines, Sky Up, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, and LOT are ready to fly from Lviv.
“We are talking about resuming regular flights from Lviv. Charter flights will most likely be attempted by Sky Up. They have a good route network in Europe. They are ready to operate the same routes from Lviv. Or from another Ukrainian city.
This year, the airline's representatives came to us with communication, conducted their audits. Wizzair representatives conducted their audit last year. They conduct a preliminary analysis and, when a decision is made to open the skies, they come to work with us within three to four days,” said the general director of Lviv Airport.
Travel companies and tour operators sell summer season tours to Ukrainians from airports in Poland and the EU. Romanovskaya says that if the airport in Lviv opens, tour operators will quickly reorient themselves because it will be more convenient and cheaper than with the EU.
“We would like the airport to open in the summer, because we understand that the main air traffic occurs during holidays, summer and long days. If this happens in April or May, it will be very good for us,” Romanovskaya added.
