According to Baerbock, Germany will allocate a total of seven billion euros in aid to Ukraine in 2025.
“It is also important that, in addition to the investments in security and infrastructure provided for in the Basic Law, we are finally allocating another 3 billion euros in support of Ukraine in 2025. This means that Germany will continue to provide Ukraine with 7 billion euros, as it did last year,” the minister said before a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.
Baerbock also noted that the deputies plan to amend the German constitution on Tuesday, March 18. This will significantly increase the German state debt for defense financing and “will provide greater support to Ukraine.”
“Our goal is a strong and sovereign Ukraine. It is important not only to strengthen our defense capabilities, but also to take a quick and ambitious decision at the level of EU leaders and governments to provide military support,” Baerbock emphasized.
