The release delay has caused concern

The announcement that The Witcher IV would be delayed beyond 2026 has raised concerns that the game's development will take longer than expected. The company's CFO, Piotr Nelyubovich, explained that there is no specific launch date yet, and that the 2026 date was mentioned for the sake of transparency with investors.

Market reaction and forecasts

JPMorgan analysts noted that for some investors, the delay did not come as a shock, as it corresponds to CD Projekt's internal expectations. Although experts had previously expected the game to be released in the second quarter of 2027, the current uncertainty has exacerbated the negative mood on the market. The company began active production of The Witcher IV back in November 2024.
