“We actively collaborated with the World Bank, which conducted a global study of losses in the energy sector as a result of attacks. And during the war, not taking into account the last attack, it was $11.5 billion. I think this last attack will also be estimated at large sums, perhaps billions of dollars, because a lot of damage was caused,” Grinchuk noted.

According to her, the Russian attack on March 22 was one of the largest in the war.

“Yesterday’s (March 22 – ed.) attack was one of the largest since the beginning of the war. Many targets throughout Ukraine were attacked and damaged. These are generation facilities and distribution system facilities, power transmission systems. About a million consumers were left without electricity,” said the deputy minister.

The most difficult situation

According to Grinchuk, the most difficult situation is in the Kharkov region. There may be hourly outages to stabilize electricity.

“In Kharkov and the Kharkov region, where the impact was very great and it is impossible to quickly restore electricity. We are now clearing out the rubble, assessing the possibility of repairs and replacement of equipment, we are looking for this equipment throughout Ukraine and are now cooperating with partners,” noted the Deputy Minister of Energy.

Reminder
