According to CryptoQuant analysts, the government of the United States of America holds 210,392 BTC worth $14.42 billion, which makes it one of the largest owners of bitcoins, writes Incrypted.

What is known

Experts reported that the US Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service and other departments have not sold a single bitcoin since July 2023. The government's unrealized profits increased by 2.4 times.

Note that earlier analysts of the Arkham platform discovered an address allegedly belonging to the US authorities. It stores 215,245 BTC, which is about $14.68 billion.

In addition to bitcoins, this wallet stores 50,147 ETH, 10.14 million USDC, 5.36 million DAI and 2.27 million USDT.


In March 2023, the United States transferred bitcoins confiscated from the Silk Road hacker to Coinbase. In April, the government sold another 9,861 BTC.

In January 2024, government officials announced their intention to sell part of the cryptocurrency associated with the darknet site case. The statement mentioned assets in the amount of 2934 BTC.
