Some scenes of the Christmas comedy take place at The Plaza Hotel. At the time of filming, it was owned by Donald Trump — 45th President of the United States from January 20, 2017 to January 20, 2021.

As you know, Trump joined the cast of his favorite holiday film, and it didn’t just happen. As it turned out, the billionaire gave the film's director Chris Columbus an ultimatum. In particular, he allowed the film to be filmed in The Plaza only on the condition that he himself would appear in some of the episodes.

«As in Most places in New York, you just pay a fee and are allowed to film in that location. We walked up to the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, because we wanted to film in the lobby. We paid the fee, but he also said: «The only way to use the Plaza is — this is if I star in the film», — remembered Columbus.

Recall that it was previously reported which Now the Kamenskys have a relationship with Potap: the singer made a confession.
